"Why you comin’ at me, baby? / Yell at the machine, girl." Rising pop provocateur ADÉLA is back with a vengeance, dropping her latest single, Machine Girl, a biting commentary on the spectacle of female conflict and the industry’s obsession with rivalry. Co-produced by Grimes, alongside Liam Benayon, Slush Puppy, and Dylan Harrison, the track’s high-voltage synths, vocoder harmonies, and razor-sharp taunts deliver a futuristic battle cry that refuses to play by the rules. ADÉLA says:
I want to create a world that's relatable on a human level. I want to talk about things that are maybe uncomfortable. That’s who I am also as a person: I’m super blunt and kind of clinical, in a sense. I want to encourage people to be themselves.

The official video, premiering today, casts ADÉLA alongside actress Sofia Wylie, portraying two dancers pitted against each other in a brutal, high-stakes competition. Directed by Mitch deQuilettes and choreographed by Miguel Zárate, the visual embodies ADÉLA’s rebellious spirit, with Grimes herself making a cameo. ADÉLA’s journey is one of defiance and transformation and is proving she’s not here to play by the industry’s rules—she’s here to rewrite them.
