I would compare Future’s 2024 albums WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU to his 2017 albums. The first album of 2017 was FUTURE which was considered a rap album. Just one week later he released HNDRXX which was considered the R&B album. This year he released “WE DON’T TRUST YOU” which is more of a rap album while “WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU” is more of the R&B Future. The second album of two does have a second disk or deluxe version at the end where Future gets back into his rap bag.
Both albums were produced by Metro Boomin. I feel like “WE DON’T TRUST YOU” was better but both were strong projects. While I feel like Future was better on the rap album Metro really shined on the R&B project. The Weeknd appears on the first project once and three times on the second. I would like to hear Future and The Weeknd make an album together. Future has made comparative albums with Young Thug, Juice WRLD, and Lil Uzi Vert so this is not far fetched.
Best Song Disc 1 = "Red Leather" (Feat. J. Cole)
The person that Future and Metro “Don’t Trust” is Drake. Many of the features on these albums are people known to have a problem with Drake like Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, and Rick Ross. Other features include Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Brownstone, Ty Dolla $ign, J. Cole & Lil Baby. Kendrick Lamar went at Drake and J. Cole on the track “Like That”. This was a response to Drake and Cole’s track First Person Shooter which Kendrick felt was aimed at him. Drake says in his track that him and J. Cole doing a track together is like the Super Bowl. Meaning they are two best rappers in the game. Kendrick expected this from Drake but wasn’t sure where J. Cole stood until “First Person Shootet” was released. In the song “Like That” Kendrick says things like:
Niggas clickin' up, but cannot be legit, no 40 water, tell 'em, Ah, yeah, huh, yeah, get up with me, Fuck sneak dissin', first person shooter, I hope they came with three switches
Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole are known to be the big 3 in the rap game. Cole has always been comfortable being third place while Drake and Kendrick battled for the top spot. Kendrick feels like he is the obvious choice for number one and he says this in “Like That”. Kendrick says “Fuck the big 3. It’s just big ME!” He throws another shot at Drake by saying Prince outlived Michael Jackson. Comparing himself to Prince and comparing Drake to Michael Jackson.
Best Song Disc 2 = “Show of Hands” (Feat. A$AP Rocky)
