Somewhere between love and regret, echoes of what could’ve been still resonate. Polish rock trio Bagdad step into the spotlight with their latest single, Somewhere, Nowhere. This single is a raw, emotionally charged track that previews their highly anticipated debut EP, They Don’t Know, arriving March 27, 2025. With soaring riffs and frontman Franciszek Drobiński’s wistful vocals, the song paints a vivid picture of heartbreak and longing, fusing grunge nostalgia with modern intensity. Originally conceived during Drobiński’s senior year of high school in 2019, “Somewhere, Nowhere” lay dormant in his voice memos until rediscovery three years later. Drobiński shared:

It’s a simple song about a breakup, but it’s also the first track we worked on together as a band, so it holds a special place for us.

Comprising Franciszek Drobiński (vocals, guitar), Wojciech Stach (bass), and Jakub Gadamski (drums), Bagdad brings an Eastern European twist to their evocative songwriting, making them an emerging force in the alt-rock scene. With brightly toned guitars and an atmospheric build, the song captures the push and pull of letting go versus holding on, setting the stage for "They Don’t Know," an EP that promises a dynamic fusion of grunge’s explosive energy and slowcore’s contemplative depth. The release follows Bagdad’s first-ever single, “Valley of Dry Bones,” a hypnotic, brooding anthem reminiscent of ‘90s alt-rock, which established the band’s signature melancholic yet powerful sound.

Stream “Somewhere, Nowhere” now and pre-save They Don’t Know before its March 27 release.
