Behind The Lens: Geno Pacino (Part Sept)

How do you celebrate the start of a new season in your music career

By getting more focused than the previous year. Simple as that. 2025 I plan on releasing more music & content I drop music at a really high clip when I’m motivated.

What inspired you to start making music?

It’s been my dream since my inception. Literally when I was a baby I pictured myself being a musician. I always figured that music was my path or would segue me to my higher purpose.

How do you stay grounded in the fast-paced music industry?

By staying consistent & implementing changes to my flow but still keeping it genuine & me. I never allow myself to get to stuck in the past.

How do you balance your personal life with your music career?

That can be extremely difficult especially with the current climate of music. I’m actually working to improve that now. I have had stretches of extreme success in music from big paid show opportunities to months where I’m playlisted and doing huge numbers. But it comes at the sacrifice of a lot of my personal time because a lot of these opportunities don’t just fall in your lap & you have to grind. I’m actually trying to master that now still live my personal life the way I see fit & have organic growth on the music. It’s a delicate balance for sure.

What's the most challenging song you've ever written?

I would have to say it’s a tie between Tears Of Joy and Can’t Go On.  "Can’t Go On" I wrote as a dedication to my family & my late grandmother who means the world to me. I try to suppress some of those emotions because that’s one of the most painful deaths I have experienced. I didn’t touch on it in that song but I have lost my father & more recently my Aunt that I’m extremely close to as well and I just don’t like talking about those things because it’s painful. "Tears Of Joy" was actually easy to write but is maybe one of the most vulnerable songs I ever wrote. I had the concept down but not the verses on the day I was going to record it. And literally someone broke in my car right before I was heading to the studio & I noticed it getting in my car. I made that song as a dedication to Mental Health Awareness & as you can imagine my emotions were completely raw after that event. I touch on all my insecurities & more in "Tears Of Joy."

How do you stay inspired during the long winter months?

Because I tell myself everyday the work never stops. I have the strength of mind to get through literally anything & stay motivated.

What's your dream collaboration with another artist?

Today, I would have to say Kendrick Lamar. I would love to do something with the whole current big three. Kendrick, Drake & J Cole. Besides them Jay-Z would be a dream collaboration Nas, Wu-Tang, Dr Dre, The Game, Lupe, LL Cool J, Eminem, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Kanye West. I got a long list of people I would love to work with.

What's the story behind your latest song?

My latest song is called Feel Good I created it around the holidays and it’s both a dedication to the neighborhoods I grew up in, in Englewood but also something to evoke that feeling of good music no violence no tough talk just community & being the best version of yourself. It’s like medicine for the soul. I got my boi Fitzptheo on there because he also grew up in Englewood so it’s a dope authentic way to collaborate on an experience we both share.

What's one thing you wish to accomplish this year?

Taking over the world & the charts that’s the goal every year and every time I create.

How do you see your music evolving in the future and where can people connect with you at?

10. That’s hard to say. Only because in the spirit of growth & duality I’m constantly evolving. What I want and what I seek to do is create music that reflects that. It’s so many sides of me and I want to share Geno Pacino with the world you can connect with me on my YouTube channel, my instagram, my fan page, & my music is also on all streaming platforms. Just look up Geno Pacino, i'm not hard to find.
