Ben Kweller introduces Cover The Mirrors, his seventh studio album and most emotionally raw project to date. Arriving on May 30, 2025 — what would have been his late son Dorian Zev’s 19th birthday — this deeply personal album reflects Kweller’s journey through grief, loss, and healing since Dorian’s sudden passing in 2023. With his trademark nostalgic songwriting, the lead single Optimystic, marks a new chapter in Kweller’s career, intertwining heartbreak with hope in a way only he can. Speaking about the project, Kweller shared:
Music became my lifeline, helping me cope with the unthinkable. This album is my journey of finding peace amidst grief and sharing it with the world.
Kweller channels his raw emotions into a collection of 12 songs that stand as a testament to his resilience and artistic brilliance. The album not only honors Dorian’s memory but also opens the door for listeners to find solace and connection in their own experiences of loss and love. Recorded at NoiseCo Studio in Dripping Springs, TX, "Cover The Mirrors" features a stellar lineup of collaborators, including Waxahatchee on Dollar Store, MJ Lenderman on Oh Dorian, The Flaming Lips on Killer Bee, and Coconut Records’ Jason Schwartzman on Depression. Kweller will support the album with a North American tour, beginning April 15 at Atlanta’s Purgatory At The Masquerade and culminating at Phoenix’s Crescent Ballroom on July 26. Stream “Optimystic” now and pre-order "Cover The Mirrors" on vinyl and digital platforms. Don’t miss the chance to experience Ben Kweller’s moving tribute to his son live on tour and follow him on INSTAGRAM, TIKTOK, FACEBOOK, and YOUTUBE.
