Craig Finn steps into new storytelling territory with Always Been, his sixth solo album arriving April 4 alongside Tamarac Recordings and Thirty Tigers Records. The first single, People Of Substance, sets the tone, layering Finn’s signature lyricism with cinematic textures and grand sonic builds. Finn’s knack for capturing complex emotions through everyday narratives shines throughout, making this his most immersive solo effort to date. Weaving a tale of rise, fall, and redemption against a backdrop of lush instrumentation and atmospheric production, Finn describes the project as:
..the most narrative record I have made.

Produced by Adam Granduciel and featuring guest vocals from Kathleen Edwards and Sam Fender, the album unfolds like a novel, following a protagonist who pursues a career as a clergyman despite a crisis of faith. Recorded in Burbank, CA, "Always Been" brings Finn’s character-driven songwriting to new heights, mixed by three-time GRAMMY® winner Jonathan Low. With The War on Drugs serving as his backing band, Finn will celebrate the album’s release as a special guest on Bob Mould’s U.S. tour.
