Eloise Viola’s forthcoming debut album Glasshouse is a passionate pop record which shares her messages of self-love, self-empowerment and hard-won independent strength. Due out May 10th, Eloise will be celebrating the release with a special album launch show at The Slaughtered Lamb in London on May 2nd. The show promises to be an intimate immersive experience for fans who will hear tracks from debut album for the first time, all performed live with Eloise’s full band, among a further sensory experience delving deep into the empowering themes of the record. Today Eloise releases the brand new single Lifetime. In relation to the song Eloise says:
‘Lifetime’ tells the story of a relationship ending and it blindsiding me. The song opens with the aftermath of that. The feeling of anger, hurt and ‘unfairness’. But slowly (very slowly!) as I healed, I processed what had happened and I realised that it was always going to end. I thought we could have gone on for a Lifetime and that a lack of love wasn’t really the problem. What love there was kept holding us together when we deserved more, and so we took it. I feel like the song has a bittersweet feeling of resolution, like the end of a sad book that you love!!!
"Lifetime" is a contrasting upbeat song about heartbreak which pulsates with flamenco rhythms. Lush acoustic guitar plucks among atmospheric strings forming a danceable ballad to which Eloise’s stunning vocals soar throughout. The London-based singer, songwriter and vocal powerhouse, has also been announced to support Rebecca Ferguson on her UK tour running through May and June 2024. Pre-order your copy of the album here and look out for a multi-episode podcast documentary of "Glasshouse" with Laid Bare exploring the in depth themes.
