Unspoken words, a silent gaze, feelings linger in a lovelorn haze. Philadelphia’s indie rock upstarts Fib are stepping into a bold new era with the announcement of their debut album Heavy Lifting, set to arrive April 25. The long-awaited LP follows their 2021 self-titled tape, marking their first release in four years. Leading the charge is Mutuals, a textured, rhythmically charged track that seamlessly blends intricate guitars, fast transitions, and high-arching melodies. Trading their early lo-fi grit for a more refined and dynamic approach, "Heavy Lifting" showcases Fib’s ability to synthesize post-punk energy into irresistibly catchy hooks. According to the band, “Mutuals” represents a pivotal turning point:
In writing this track, we were trying to put the past to shame and take a step forward in our creativity. ‘Mutuals’ sets the tone of the record with its beauty, urgency, and complexity.

Formed in 2021, Fib quickly gained a cult following with their breakout track Bedside. Now, the band—vocalist/guitarist Gage Nelson, guitarist Damien Nicholson, bassist Logan Adam, and drummer Charlie Libby Watt—is ready to unveil their most ambitious and cohesive work yet. "Heavy Lifting" was entirely written, recorded, and produced by the band, embodying their DIY ethos and evolving sonic identity. Stay tuned for upcoming tour dates and exclusive merch drops by following Fib on Instagram, Bandcamp, and YouTube.
