When loving someone is a losing game, Duncan Laurence knows how hard it is to give in and move on. His 2019 hit, Arcade, explored this theme and won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. With the release of his new album, Small Town Boy, Laurence has teamed up Capitol Records label-mate, Fletcher, to produce a new mix of Arcade. Together, the two artists put an even more haunting spin on his already moving track. Laurence says:
I see music as a platform to tell stories that might be a bit sad, but always have this hopeful ending or hopeful core inside of them. I think trying to see the positive in something negative gives you a certain strength through life.”
True to his word, Laurence’s song celebrates hopeful persistence with all the beauty music affords. To commemorate the rerelease of Arcade for Small Town Boy, Laurence uploaded an official lyric video to his YouTube channel. Check out the Paul Bellaart produced video down below. Listeners can also with Laurence on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
