A rhythm born from love and play, A melody danced in night and day. Acclaimed keyboardist, composer, and bandleader Lao Tizer unveils a special live-in-studio video for Kat’s Groove, a track inspired by his daughter Katya. Featured on the Lao Tizer Band’s latest album, Amplify, the song embodies the band’s fearless approach to breaking musical boundaries. "Kat’s Groove" was born from a heartfelt moment between Tizer and his then 9-month-old daughter, Katya. He recalls how a playful New Orleans-inspired rhythm kept her entertained before a family wedding, eventually evolving into a fully realized composition. Tizer shared:

It was 100% inspired by her, and it’s really special that it turned into the song it did. When I introduce it onstage, I always tell the story and add, ‘It’s not your typical children’s song.’ The story and tune really connect!

Recorded live at EastWest Studios in Hollywood, "Amplify" captures the raw energy of the band’s artistry. Filmed in a single take with a 7-camera shoot directed by Andy LaViolette, and audio engineered by Caleb Parker, the album stands as a testament to live performance excellence. Beyond its vibrant instrumentals, "Amplify" also introduces the Lao Tizer Band’s first original vocal tracks, featuring American Idol star and RIAA Platinum-certified singer Elliott Yamin, who lends his soulful vocals to five songs on the album.
