The first R&B artist signed to Quality Control Music has something to say with her new EP.
Layton Greene just released Tell Ya Story, her debut seven song EP on Quality Control Music, Level’D Up, and Motown Records.
The greyscale album cover with handwritten lyrics are memories from her childhood and how the 20-year-old vocalist blamed herself for the chaos around her: a missing father, a mother who grappled with bipolar disorder, drug addiction and domestic abuse and ultimately abandoned her 16-year-old daughter at the behest of her new man, racial bullying, homelessness and sexual abuse.
The East St. Louis, Illinois-based singer recently released her latest video for her single Blame On Me, which is closing in on 500,00 views. The video was shot in her hometown by director Gabriel Hart, a.k.a. “Video God."
Layton Greene's debut EP also features the hit single I Love You, along with five other tracks that she hopes will inspire audiences to tell their stories, she states:
It’s okay not to be okay sometimes. It’s okay to go through stuff. We’re all human. Sometimes we forget that.
