Maggie Rogers returns with a heartfelt new single, In The Living Room, a poignant track that beautifully captures her mastery of blending nostalgia with emotional depth. The song, which showcases her distinctive lyrical storytelling, is a reflection on cherished memories and the lingering feelings of those past moments. Rogers, who first captured the world's attention with her soulful, evocative sound, once again proves her artistry by painting an intimate portrait of personal experience. The official video, directed by Grant Singer, captures this sentiment perfectly, shifting fluidly between the past and present, giving fans a visual representation of the song's introspective nature. In discussing the track, Rogers shared:
I wrote ‘In The Living Room’ in March 2023, a few months after Don’t Forget Me. Like much of the album, this song reflects on the beauty and pain of memory and how it interweaves with our realities.
Joining forces with producer Ian Fitchuk, the single follows the release of her acclaimed album Don’t Forget Me where Rogers creates a sound that feels both raw and polished with a delicate balance that brings her memories to life. Fans will soon have the chance to experience Rogers' magic live, as she kicks off The Don’t Forget Me Tour, Part II in Austin on October 9, with stops in major cities like New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles.
