New York City’s Monobloc unveils their latest single, Where Is My Garden, an anthemic track that journey into the struggle between material desires and finding contentment in the present. The song captures this internal battle with wiry guitar work and a rousing chorus, accompanied by a monochrome video self-directed by the band. Monobloc, known for their rich soundscapes and honest lyricism, continues to establish themselves as a formidable presence in the NYC music scene with this release. The track’s intricate rhythms and straightforward lyrics create a timeless piece that resonates across generations. Lead vocalist Timothy Waldron explains:
Attached to the main riff of the song was this chorus I really wanted to use but could never find a place where it made sense. Where is my garden, where are my friends? Will it always feel like the end?” It was a great wide theme - a bit Springsteen and better yet, the closest I could legally get to saying “Where are your friends tonight?"
The single was co-composed by bassist Michael Silvergrade, who crafted the guitar riff long before Monobloc was formed. Despite numerous iterations, the song came together after the band revisited the old demo while writing their first tracks. Monobloc’s upcoming performances include an intimate show at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn, a debut UK performance at Sebright Arms in London, and appearances at major festivals like All Points East and Rock En Seine.
