"I’m trying to be bolder than I’ve been before," says band mate Robbie Kingsley. The Hails return with Different Guy, a fearless dive into a new sonic era following their 2023 debut album What’s Your Motive. Unbound by tradition, the Miami-bred five-piece crafted the track across home studios in Miami, DC, and Brooklyn, finally bringing it to life at Fraser Sound Studios in New York. Co-produced by band members Franco Solari and Dylan McCue alongside GRAMMY Award-winning engineer Phil Joly, “Different Guy” pulses with unshackled ambition. Inspired by the boldness of The Police and Bloc Party, the song embraces reckless abandon and the thrill of pushing past limits. Kingsley says:
The pressure of our debut album is gone. Now, we can take risks—no fear, no restraints. We’re not afraid to die.

Robbie Kingsley’s signature falsetto drifts between playful and provocative, riding on a danceable beat that refuses to be tied down. This scattered yet intentional approach fuels the song’s electrifying spontaneity, a high-energy blend of sharp lyricism, dynamic grooves, and carefree swagger. The band is hitting the road with Never Ending Fall for a co-headline North American tour, kicking off tomorrow in Boston. With The Thing With Feathers, Parrotfish, and REMYZ rotating as openers, the tour will make stops in Los Angeles, Miami, Brooklyn, Washington DC, and more.
